Tuesday marked a historic day in Massachusetts as the first two legal recreational marijuana shops opened.
Dozens of customers braved the frigid temperatures and lined up for the occasion at Northampton-based store New England Treatment Acess and Leicester-based Cultivate. Massachusetts residents voted to legalize marijuana in 2016, but shops faced a delayed process to open their doors.
Patrons over the age of 21 can purchase products so long as they have a valid ID. For more information about purchasing recreational marijuana in the Bay State, click here.
