Will a bigger Boston Convention Center be used like supporters say it will be?

Boston Business Journal editor Craig Douglas weighs in on guest columnist Charlie Chieppo's analysis, which is that if past performance is any indication of the future, then the answer may be "no."

Douglas explains that supporters want to expand the convention center by about 60 percent for about $1 billion.

"In light of how controversial the Big Dig was at $13 billion plus, we've been a little bit surprised to date that hasn't been much of an uproar over this $1 billion proposed expansion," he said.
