Harvard University's endowment chief is stepping down.
Boston Business Journal managing editor Craig Douglas says Jane Mendillo's exit isn't surprising.
"This is kind of an unforgiving job. We see a lot of turnover. Every few years it seems like a top-named investor comes and goes. At the end of the day, the numbers are the numbers and even though Harvard has the biggest endowment, it does trail many of its Ivy League peers, in fact, all of its Ivy League peers over five years as well as some of the colleges in Massachusetts," he said.
Douglas also talks about property taxes - and if towns and cities are primed for a tax override.
