(NECN) - While the eyes of the world will be watching the celebrities at Sunday's Oscars, police will be keeping a close eye on the crowds.
They will be getting help from a Chelmsford, Mass. company, Axis Communications.
James Marcella, Director of Technical Services at Axis, joined NECN to describe how LAPD will be utilizing the technology his company is supplying them for the event.
Axis is providing the LAPD with security cameras. They will have the ability to stream live video from HD quality cameras at the sight of the Oscars to a command center seven miles away.
Police officers at the center will monitor the footage for any suspicious activity. They then will take action as needed.
