A 46-year-old registered sex offender has been arrested for taking photos of an 11-year-old boy at the urinal of a Maine Walmart.
Marc Alberi was arrested Monday at his Newport home and charged with possession of sexually explicit material of a child under 12. The alleged incident took place Sunday in the restroom of a Palmyra store.
After the child reported the incident, police say Walmart's security team helped them identify Alberi.
Alberi was arrested Monday after computer crime officials with Maine State Police analyzed his cell phone and laptop.
Police say Alberi served two years in jail for unlawful sexual contact after being found guilty in 1998; he has been convicted of eight sex-related crimes.
Alberi is required to register as a sex offender in Maine for the rest of his life.
