(NECN) One of the best things about the holiday season is that it's a great excuse to have a party. Whether it's Christmas dinner or a neighborhood cookie swap, you can be a great host and have fun without spending a fortune. However there are some traps that it's easy to fall into. Louise Sacco of FrugalYankee share some advice.
One of the common pitfalls people run into is referred to as the "Martha Stewart Trap", which makes people think they have to do everything perfectly. Sacco says hosts don't have to decorate their entire home or go crazy cleaning.
Hosts also shouldn't stress themselves out about not having enough food or having to offer a fully stocked bar.
