Globe: Hingham-based Talbots Closing 75-100 Stores

(NECN) - The Boston Globe is reporting that locally-based clothing retailer Talobts will be closing 75-100 stores. Deputy City Editor Mike Bello says company insiders are predicting slower store sales this quarter.

Analysts say the chain based in Hingham, Massachusetts has had a hard time attracting more younger women to its brand.

Talbots will eventually close 17% of business in the U.S. and Canada by the end of 2013. The company also lowered its 3rd quarter revenue forecast.

You can read more about the closures directly from the Boston Globe's coverage.
