(NECN) - Boston is topping a rather dubious new list.
The Daily Beast has named the Hub the drunkest city in America.
It says 20.1-percent of the city's population is classified as binge drinkers, while 7.4-percent are heavy drinkers. It also says the average number of alcoholic drinks consumed by adults per month is 15.6.
Norfolk, Va. finished second; Milwaukee, Wis. was third; Charleston, S.C. was fourth; rounding out the top five was Austin, Texas.
Also high on the list was the Hartford-New Haven metro area.
