(NECN:Steve Aveson) - Prof. Diane Levin of Wheelock College discusses the latest controversy from Abercrombie & Fitch, a padded bikini top aimed at girls as young as 8.
She is an expert on the sexualization of children and the author of eight books, including "So Sexy So Soon: The New Sexalized Childhood and What Parents Can do to Protect Their Kids."
She suggests that if your child asks for the clothing and you don't approve, ask her why she wants the item and start a conversation about why your feel such an outfit is inappropriate for a girl her age.
