(AP) - The maker of a tablet for teething babies is recalling the item because federal officials say it can be dangerous for children in large doses.
Standard Homeopathic Co. makes Hyland's Teething Tablets, which the Food and Drug Administration says contains belladonna, a substance that can be harmful in larger doses.
The FDA says it has received reports of "serious adverse effects" caused by the tablet. But the company says it believes the tablets are safe.
The FDA is asking consumers and doctors to report any side effects from the tablets at www.fda.gov/MedWatch/report.htm.
