(NECN/ABC) - Today in Washington, a third Congressional hearing in just one week is taking place for Toyota executives. The government says it has now received complaints of 52 deaths connected to sudden acceleration in Toyota vehicles since 2000.
Massive recalls and slow response have hurt the company, both in reputation and in the pocketbook.
Toyota executives are insisting their vehicles do not have electrical problems. They say extensive testing shows no evidence of such malfunctions.

The full scope of Toyota's problems is not clear. The automaker just issued a new recall for leaky oil hoses and new reports indicate even Toyota models not included in the recall are plagued by runaway acceleration.
