A body was found Thursday afternoon on a beach in Marblehead, Massachusetts, authorities said.
The Essex County District Attorney's Office confirmed to NBC10 Boston that it is involved in an investigation after the discovery at the beach on Edgemere Road.
Ellie Tomlinson says she was walking toward the beach when her dog started sniffing something.
"I'm kind of clinical about things, and it was not recognizable as a person. I knew it was a body," Tomlinson said. "And so I just did what I needed to do, and summoned somebody else to take care of what needed to be done.

Tomlinson called 911 after finding the remains.
"It was pretty startling," she said.
No further information was immediately available.
