Documents: Connecticut Teen Charged in Stabbing Was Upset About Prom Rejection

Christopher Plaskon

Court documents show that the man charged with fatally stabbing a classmate inside their Milford high school last year told a friend he had been upset about the victim's refusal to go to the prom with him.

The Hartford Courant reports the documents indicate a friend of defendant Christopher Plaskon told police that Plaskon had thoughts about hurting Maren Sanchez because he wanted to be more than friends with her.

The 18-year-old Plaskon has been charged with murdering the 16-year-old Sanchez on the day of their junior prom in April 2014. He has pleaded not guilty.

Police said previously they were investigating what role Sanchez's rejection of Plaskon's invitation might have played in the attack.

Plaskon appeared briefly in Milford Superior Court on Tuesday and his case was continued to January.
