The decomposed body of a man was found behind a house in Waterbury, Connecticut, on Tuesday and police are investigating.
Authorities responded to Denver Place, a small street with abandoned lots, around 11 a.m. after a property owner found the body, police said.
Police believe the man was middle-aged and could have been at the site for a few days.
How the person died is not known and police said it's too early to determine foul play was involved.
Police said the area is remote and is frequented by transients.
An autopsy is expected to be performed on Wednesday. The man has not been identified.
