Former College President Sued Over Use of Funds

Ex-Westfield State president used school's funds on personal purchases

Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley is suing the former president of Westfield State University over allegations that he illegally used school funds.

The lawsuit accuses Evan Dobelle of spending nearly $100,000 on personal purchases, such as high-end meals and extravagant family vacations.

Dobelle resigned under fire back in November of 2013.

Dobelle feels he's done nothing wrong. He says the spending was a justified effort to turn the college into a world-class school.
