Maine utilities continue to restore power to homes and businesses after outages caused by high winds.

Emera Maine was working to restore electricity to more than 2,200 customers Friday morning, almost all of them in Aroostook County. It expects power to be restored by late Friday morning.

Central Maine Power had 1,100 customers without power early Friday, most in Franklin and Somerset counties, but had reduced the number to 625 several hours later.
