A Bangor, Maine, woman has been sent to prison for more than three years for her role in the distribution of the drug known as bath salts.
Federal prosecutors say 26-year-old Elizabeth Mikotowicz was sentenced Tuesday to three years and one month in prison and three years of probation.
She pleaded guilty in May to a charge of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and to distribute bath salts, also known as MDPV.
According to court records, between April and December 2011, she distributed the drug in Penobscot County and elsewhere.
Mikotowicz is one of eighteen defendants who pleaded guilty to conspiring with Ryan Ellis to distribute the drug. Ellis previously pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.
