Boston Ranks #8 for Highest Cost of Living

The estimated per partner salary requirement is $86,497, according to data analyzed by FindTheHome

Feeling the crunch of the cost of living in Boston? There's a good reason.

According to FindTheHome, Boston is among the Top 10 places in the U.S. that require the highest salaries to live.

Not surprisingly, the New York City metro area topped the list for the highest cost of living, as each partner needs to make an estimated $94,437 in order to live comfortably. But Boston wasn't far behind, finishing at #8, with an estimated per partner salary requirement of $86,497.

The only other New England region to make the list was the Stamford, Connecticut, metro area, which actually came in at #5, with an estimated per partner salary requirement of $88,485.

The rest of the Top 10 was made up of Washington, D.C., Virginia, Hawaii, and other parts of New York state:
