DA: Framingham, Mass. Deaths Appear to Be Murder-Suicide

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan says two people found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide in Framingham, Massachusetts, were a 31-year-old woman and her boyfriend who lived together.

Ryan says authorities believe Michelle Batista's boyfriend killed her and turned the gun on himself. Their bodies were found Wednesday afternoon by firefighters making a well-being check at the request of relatives.

Friday, the man was identified as 27-year-old Allen Murphy. Ryan confirmed that the case is being considered one of domestic violence.

Batista's parents say their daughter and her boyfriend were in a rocky relationship and they accused him of abusing her. They say they had pleaded with her to end the relationship and get a restraining order.

Batista leaves behind a 15-year-old son.

Neighbors said Batista and her boyfriend often argued and police went to their home several times, but never made an arrest.
