Friends, Family Mourn Couple Shot to Death in Worcester, Massachusetts

Police identified the victims as 26-year-old Jessica McKeon and 28-year-old Alex Lora.

Friends and family of a young couple shot and killed in their Worcester, Massachusetts, apartment Thursday night are in shock.

Alex Lora, 28, and his 26-year-old girlfriend, Jessica McKeon, were found shot in their Forbes Street apartment.

McKeon was dead when police arrived. Lora was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

Lora leaves behind two sons, and McKeon leaves behind a 7-year-old daughter.

"They was a great couple, they was always together, good parents," said Lora's cousin, Maritza Rodriguez. "This is not fair, I want justice to be done on this, I can't believe this is really happening to our family."

"I just know they were good people who tried, who loved everybody, who respected a lot of people, who didn't disrespect," said the couple's friend, Maleisha Robinson. "I don't know, they just loved their kids."

The couple does not have custody of their children and they weren't in the apartment when the shooting happened. But landlord Silvio Hernandez's grandchildren were just one floor below when shots were fired.

"Nervous last night, nervous this morning," said Hernandez. "I just never experienced anything like that in my life."

Worcester Police say the shooting does not appear to be random, and the victims are known to police.

"We have to look at everything and try to determine if this was drug related, if this is gang related, if this is something to do with a domestic situation involving somebody else," said Worcester Police Sgt. Kerry Hazelhurst.

Relatives say they have no idea who would do this to them.

"They did everything right, I don't - this baffles me because I don't get why anybody would want to hurt those two," said Lora's cousin, Angelica Cintron.
