According to Variety, Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in Jeff Bauman's story of the Boston Marathon Bombings, "Stronger".
Bauman lost both legs in that day. "Stronger" is his tale from disaster to triumph - a tale he helped sell to studio executives in Hollywood.
"Sitting there with the executives and getting the, crying, getting them laughing and everyone loved the story," said Bauman. "Lionsgate was, like, 'Hey, we want it."
Lionsgate won't confirm that Gyllenhaal, star of "Brokeback Mountain" and "Southpaw" is in the running to play Bauman, but Bauman is excited at the prospect. But more than that he looks at the movie as an opportunity to give back to the people who helped him.
"I think this will kind of put them in the spotlight, cause its not just about me," he said. "It's about Boston and my team and the people around me who helped me get to this point."
He thinks of the movie as a less complicated version of the book with a focus for a movie audience.
"A love story between my wife, and it's going to have me being the underdog and eventually winning her back," he said.
