Man Charged With Stealing Human Remains Faces Arraignment

A Connecticut man arrested in connection with the theft of skeletal human remains from a Massachusetts cemetery is scheduled for arraignment.

Police say 40-year-old Felix Delgado Jr., of Bridgeport, is expected to be arraigned Thursday in district court on multiple counts of disinterring bodies.

Delgado was arrested in Connecticut on Feb. 2 as part of an ongoing investigation involving missing human remains stolen from the two mausoleums in Hope Cemetery in Worcester.

Delgado told police he is a Santeria priest. Santeria mixes Roman Catholicism with a traditional African faith and developed in the Caribbean.

In December, another Connecticut man pleaded not guilty to stealing human remains from the same cemetery. He also said he was a Santeria priest.

It could not be determined whether Delgado has hired a lawyer.
