Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is mourning the death of his mother, his office confirmed Saturday.
Baker's mother, who was 84, had been suffering from Alzheimer's.
The governor shared a tribute to his mother on Facebook.
"My deepest condolences to Governor Baker on the loss of his mother," Boston Mayor Marty Walsh wrote. "My thoughts and prayers are with the Baker family."
The family has requested privacy.
