A major snowstorm has forced London Mayor Boris Johnson to cancel a visit to Harvard University and could scuttle his entire Boston tour.
Johnson was slated to visit Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Monday as part of a six-day trade mission to the U.S. including stops in New York City and Washington, D.C.
But Harvard closed because of Monday's storm. MIT also closed, but Johnson's staff said it was still trying to determine if the MIT event would proceed.
The mayor arrived Sunday and met with Massachusetts transportation officials.
He learned about the massive "Big Dig" project that relocated the city's elevated highway underground and toured the Rose Kennedy Greenway, the downtown Boston linear park it created.
