3 juveniles hurt in stabbing at South Boston MBTA station

Police are investigating a stabbing that injured three young people Wednesday at an MBTA station in South Boston.

The juveniles suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the stabbing at Andrew Square Station.

The Boston Police Department was assisting MBTA Transit Police in the investigation.

Transit police say it a large group of juveniles got in a fight.

"I grabbed his sweater and put my hand to put pressure on it," said Israel Matias, who tended to one of the victims. "He asked me if he was going to die, and I told him, 'No, you're going to MGH, and you'll be fine.' I felt bad for him."

Witnesses say many of the people involved in the fight ran away from the scene, but police say they were able to detain several suspects.
