Jeanne Shaheen on “Most Vulnerable Senators” List

Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter was also named one of Roll Call's "10 Most Vulnerable House Members"

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), was named of the "10 Most Vulnerable Senators" by Roll Call this week.

"Shaheen retains an edge in the New Hampshire Senate race," Roll Call wrote on Wednesday. "Republicans are more optimistic about former Sen. Scott P. Brown's chances to return to the Senate in a state once viewed as beyond the GOP's potential reach this cycle. Brown saw a post-primary boost, with polls showing the race tightening and even tied, but recent polls put Shaheen back on top."

Another New Hampshire lawmaker, U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH), appears on the political website's accompanying list of the "10 Most Vulnerable House Members."

"Here’s the problem for elected officials in New Hampshire: The Granite State has proved to be the moodiest in the country, armed with an appetite to throw their delegation out every two years," Roll Call said in a story posted Thursday. "Shea-Porter represents the tougher district for Democrats, and she doesn’t have the same moderate voting record as her colleagues in similar competitive districts. But her opponent, former Rep. Frank Guinta, has a relatively conservative voting record too. They’ll face off for the third time in November."

No other New England legislators made either list. Roll Call's list will be published one more time, the week before Election Day.
