Police: Merrimack, NH Teen Made Up Knife Attack Story

17-year-old Bryan Charland was arrested for allegedly making a false report to police

A New Hampshire teen is accused of filing a false police report after telling police he was attacked by a man with a knife.

Merrimack Police say 17-year-old Bryan Charland of 1 Rainier Court called police early Tuesday morning, telling them there was an armed intruder in the house.

Charland allegedly told police he was attacked by an unknown man with a knife, and that the man had fled before the officers arrived.

Despite an extensive search, police say they found no one in the area, and when they investigated, they determined Charland has falsely reported the attack to them and arrested him.

No word yet on if Charland made his $1,000 bail or has a lawyer. He's set to be arraigned before a judge in the 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack on Dec. 30.
