Employee at RI Private School Facing Sex Solicitation Charges

An employee of a private Rhode Island school for special needs children has been charged with soliciting an underage girl on the internet for sex.

Police say 32-year-old Douglas Marcel was arrested Tuesday after local authorities were tipped off by Pennsylvania State Police.

Authorities say Marcel engaged in communications last month with a person he believed to be the 14-year-old girl and the conversation "quickly became sexually explicit."Marcel is a classroom behavioral specialist at the Bradley School in Portsmouth. Police say there's no evidence students at the school were victimized.

Marcel and his live-in girlfriend also face drug charges after police say they found heroin in their home.

Marcel was held without bail. No lawyer was listed in court records and he was referred to the public defender's office.
