Azamat Tazhayakov, one of the convicted friends of the Boston Marathon bomber, withdrew his appeal Thursday, according to court documents.
Tazhayakov was sentenced early last month to three and a half years in federal prison for covering up evidence in the April 2013 terror investigation.
Prosecutors say Tazhayakov took evidence, including a backpack, fireworks and a laptop, out of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's dorm room at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and disposed of it as authorities released images of Tsarnaev and his now-deceased brother, Tamerlan.
Tsarnaev was formally sentenced to death last week for his role in the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and injured more than 260 others.
