Cold Front to Bring Humid Air, Heavy Downpours to Some Areas

Tuesday night: Partly to mostly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. Wednesday: Hazy sun. Warmer and more humid. Afternoon downpours and thunder. Upper 70s to low 80s. Thursday: Showers depart early morning. Sun returns. Warm with lowering humidity. Low 80s.

Temperatures will be getting gradually warmer over the coming days. With the dry airmass in place, it’s been cool at night and warm during the day.

Humidity will start to ramp up with our approaching cold front. The wild card is what could be “Erin.” The storm is now tropical depression #6, but guidance is showing it will strengthen over the next 24 hours.

This storm will inject the cold front with tropical moisture and we could see some heavy downpours by Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The outer Cape and Islands may see some gusty winds as well. Temperatures will reach the 80s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The good news is that system will be moving quickly and we should dry out by Thursday afternoon. In fact, it could turn into a nice beach day.

Friday looks very nice with temperatures in the 80s with sunshine. Humidity levels will begin to drop off during the afternoon.

The holiday weekend will start off with sunshine and warm air and it will end cooler with some showers. The showers may return as early as Sunday.
