Footage shows towering flames in San Francisco as crews battle a fire caused by a gas explosion.
Most of the rain and wind from Monday night has lifted out to the north and east. We start out gray and chilly for election day, with patchy dense fog and drizzle.
We may dry out for an hour or two, then another round of showers and thunderstorms will be moving from west to east this afternoon. It’s a series of fronts, first a warm front Monday night, and then a cold one Tuesday evening.
Rainfall amounts of over an inch are possible in a few locations when we add up the two events. There may be some localized wind damage, especially in Connecticut with any thunderstorms this afternoon. Wind from the southwest will gust past 45 mph Tuesday this afternoon and evening.
The sun comes back Wednesday, with a high temperature close to 60 degrees. Cooler wind arrives from Canada on Thursday with a mixture of sun and clouds. You can expect high temperatures in the 40s north and 50 south.
Yet another cool wet system moves in Friday. That may be cold enough for snow in our mountains, otherwise, it will turn wet Friday into early Saturday.

We will, again, have a windy Saturday afternoon. It's too early to say how much impact, and then the pick of the weekend once again looks like Sunday with cool and dry weather.
