President Trump to Visit New Hampshire on Monday

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are planning to visit New Hampshire next week for the first time since the final night of the 2016 general election campaign to discuss the opioid crisis.

The Union Leader reports that Trump will make at least two stops in Manchester - at the Manchester Central Fire Station and Manchester Community College. Exact details have not yet been released.

Trump is expected to talk with first responders and health care workers about the ongoing opioid crisis. New Hampshire ranks third in the country in the rate of drug overdose deaths.

Manchester Fire Chief Dan Goonan participated in the White House Opioid Summit on March 1 in Washington, D.C.

The president said earlier this month that his administration would be rolling out a policy on opioids in the coming weeks.

On Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to make an appearance at a fundraiser for Republican Gov. Chris Sununu in Manchester.
