Sunshine Returns Thursday Before Weekend Coastal Storm

Wednesday night: Flurries end. Patchy black ice. Lows around 30. Thursday: Sun returns! Highs in the 40s.
After several days in the gloom, drizzle, and a wintry mix we will finally get a break on Thursday. Temperatures warm a few degrees and we break out in full sunshine!
Tonight we gradually get rid of the wintry mix and rain. As we clear out late tonight, look to the sky for the northern lights. This may by visible across far northern New England, and there is a low chance to see the lights on low on the horizon across central New England.
Overnight lows will dip to around freezing so watch for patchy black ice into Thursday morning.
Plenty of sunshine is in store for Thursday as high pressure builds in and temperatures warm to the 40s. This will be short-lived however, as a low pressure system heads our way Friday.
The system will bring mostly clouds, a gusty southwest wind and temperatures in the mid 50s Friday afternoon. Northern New England will see scattered snow showers and a wintry mix.
Those snow showers may linger across the mountains into Saturday morning. Most of southern New England may stay relatively dry as a couple showers pass through along the cold front. The wind turns from the northwest on Saturday and our highs will return to the 40s.
Saturday will be the pick of the weekend with sunshine and highs in the mid-40s. Sunday we have another coastal storm on our hands. This low will pass offshore, bringing gusty winds heavy rain and a wintry mix north during Sunday morning and afternoon. By evening, the storm should head out to sea, taking the precipitation with it.
Monday and Tuesday next week will be dry and around 50. Wednesday becomes a tricky travel day as a large system moves across the US and towards the east coast into Thanksgiving. Travel will be interrupted at some point.
It is too tough to get into specifics just yet but we have a First Alert on the 10-day to bring attention to that system. Thanksgiving looks more wet than white and temperatures in the low 50s.
