Taste of Summer Brief as Showers, Cooler Temperatures Return

Wednesday night: Mild and breezy. Clouds increase late. Upper 60s to near 70. Thursday: Much cooler! Steady rain moves in, tapering late day. Early highs near 70 fall to the upper 50s late. Friday: Mostly sunny and cool. Mid and upper 60s.

For the second time in September, we have reached 80 degrees in Boston. This taste of summer will be brief and our temperature roller coaster will roll on in the coming days.

Temperatures will only reach the low 70s Thursday and mid-60s Friday. We’ve had to increase rain chances for Thursday. It appears the cold front will be a slow mover. On and off showers are likely through the afternoon.

Friday the sun will return, but the warm air won’t. Again, temperatures will only reach the mid-60s. A gradual warm-up will be in the cards for the weekend.

Temperatures Saturday will hit the mid-70s with a few showers around. Sunday looks to be the pick of the weekend as high temperatures climb into the low 80s.

Showers will be around to kick off the work week next week. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s.

Tuesday will be slightly cooler than normal with sunshine and then another significant warm up will occur.

Temperatures Thursday and Friday will climb into the mid and upper 80s. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible each afternoon.
