Police: Alcohol, Speed Likely Cause of Rollover That Injures Three

 Three females were seriously injured when the car they were in hit a tree and overturned in Benton, Maine, on Tuesday morning.

The State Police are reporting that alcohol and speed were likely the cause of the crash.

The driver, 19-year-old Sadie MacDonald of Waterville, was treated at MaineGeneral for multiple injuries.

According to the police, MacDonald lost control of the 1997 Lexus and the car became airborne, hit several trees, and landed on its roof, pinning the three females inside. MacDonald was driving with a suspended license.

The two passengers, 15-year old Brooklyn Vining, and 20-year-old Jodie Nadeau, were both Lifeflighted to Eastern Maine Medical Center for multiple injuries.

Police are awaiting results of the blood alcohol tests before decided on charges for MacDonald.
