Baggage Handlers, Cabin Cleaners to Strike at Logan for Higher Wages

Organizers said the strike will primarily impact Terminals C and E

Baggage handlers and cabin cleaners are scheduled to go on strike Tuesday at Logan International Airport.

The workers are calling on their employer, a contractor with the airport, to raise wages to $15 an hour, and to stop retaliating against workers who are fighting for union rights.

Organizers said the strike will primarily impact Terminals C and E, but officials with Massport said the picketing is not expected to impact any flights in a major way.

The strike is among several taking place at major airports including Chicago O’Hare International. The strike will also coincide with rallies across the country by fast food workers, hospital workers and Uber drivers as they fight for $15 dollars an hour in wages.
