Driver Faces OUI Charge in I-395 Wrong-Way Crashes

Massachusetts State Police say a man was drunk when he drove the wrong way on Interstate 395, causing at least two crashes.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that 54-year-old Michael Schold, of Webster, was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Dudley District Court on drunken driving and negligent driving charges.

Authorities say Schold drove north on the southbound side of I-395 in the Webster area Sunday night. State police say he caused crashes between exits 1 and 4.

No one was seriously injured.

State police say additional charges may be filed as troopers continue to investigate.

It was not immediately clear if the suspect has a lawyer.
