    Crews on Scene of Gas Line Break in Upton

    Upton police say the 2" break is on Hartford Avenue South near the railroad crossing.

    Residents have returned to their homes following a gas line break in Upton, Massachusetts, Wednesday afternoon.

    Upton police say the 2" break was on Hartford Avenue South near the railroad crossing. Area roads have since reopened.

    Fire crews and Eversource are on the scene and the gas has been stopped. Four homes in the immediate area were evacuated.

    Aerial footage from the NBC Sky Ranger showed firefighters spraying water on the pipe.
