Fraud, Identity Theft Reported at Chelmsford, Mass. Bank

Police are investigating after a skimming device was placed on a TD Bank ATM.

Police in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, are investigating a fraud and identity theft at the town's TD Bank.

Officers were recently notified that a skimming device was placed on an ATM at the Drum Hill Road branch.

According to police, skimming devices can hidden inside ATMs to capture debit and credit card numbers, as well as pin numbers.

Lt. Gail Beaudoin says the reports started coming in last week when people noticed money missing from their accounts. So far, at least 23 people have been impacted. Most of the victims had about $700 stolen.

The Chelmsford Police Department is investigating. Anyone who has used the ATM at the Drum Hill branch is urged to call Chelmsford Police at 978-256-2521.
