Harbormaster: Possible Shark Sighting at Massachusetts Beach

Beach goers were taking it all in stride throughout the day

Swimmers in Duxbury, Massachusetts, are asked to use caution after a shark sighting was reported Sunday morning.

The sighting off Ocean Road North is unconfirmed according to the Duxbury Harbormaster; however, swimmers are asked to swim at their own risk and stay alert.

Beach goers were taking it all in stride throughout the day.

“I thought it was kind of scary because I thought the shark might come to us,” said 9-year-old Mia.

The harbormaster's advice — swim in groups if possible.

“Ever since I saw jaws it's always been in the back of my mind but you know you worry but you don't worry, I just don't go out too deep,” said Mike Shea of East Bridgewater.
