NH Authorities Investigating Person Who Shot a Moose and Left It to Rot

New Hampshire authorities are investigating the case of a person who allegedly shot and killed a moose and left it to rot at Sugarloaf Pond in Stratford.

The incident took place Oct. 20 when the person shot the moose in the chest and after it was wounded, approached it and delivered the final shot to the head at close range, according to investigators.

The individual did not make any attempt to salvage anything from the moose, instead leaving the moose to rot, wasting hundreds of pounds of meat.

There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the violator and people are encouraged to call the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-344-4262.
