Crews were called to battle a fire at a Newton, Massachusetts restaurant Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out at the Buttonwood Restaurant on Lincoln Street at about 10:20 a.m.

Fire officials said crews were able to get the main body of the fire knocked down in about a half hour, but they still needed to check the roof and ceiling of the restaurant as well as adjacent businesses.

It's unclear what caused the fire.

Some Leavenworth County, Kansas, officials are calling for Commissioner Louis Klemp's resignation after he insulted a black woman who had just presented a land-use study to the commission. "I don't want you to think I am picking on you because we are part of the master race. You have a gap in your teeth. We are part of the master race, don't you forget that," Klemp said.
