    Police Investigate After Maine Infant Seriously Injured

    Maine State Police are assisting local police in an investigation after an infant sustained serious injuries inside a home on Pooler Drive in Vassalboro.

    Six-month-old Blaze Wood was taken to Maine General Medical Center in Augusta on Jan. 2 then flown by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland the following day, according to police.

    Police say the boy's father, 23-year-old Dylan Wood, lived with the infant and has been interviewed.

    Officials continue to monitor the child's condition. The investigation is ongoing.
