Police Stumble Onto Massive Marijuana Grow Operation

Charges are pending

Police in Fall River, Massachusetts, stumbled onto a massive marijuana grow operation while investigating a door that had been forced open.

Around 3:40 a.m. Monday, a Fall River Police officer observed that a door had been forced open on a building at 379 Kilburn St.

While investigating the break-in, the officer detected an overwhelming odor of marijuana, and then found about 100 marijuna plants in one room. He then found a second room with a similar marijuana grow operation of another 100 plants or so. The building appeared to be a warehouse separated by large petitions.

Police executed a search warrant and confiscated about 200 marijuana plants, averaging 3 feet tall. They also seized a firearm and ammunition, along with surveillance system footage.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
