    Trash Truck Driver Hit by Own Vehicle Seriously Injured

    Fire officials said the driver was taken from the scene by ambulance with potentially life-threatening injuries.

    A dump truck driver was seriously injured in a crash in Auburn, Massachusetts, on Friday afternoon in which he was hit by his own vehicle.

    The accident was reported before 1:30 p.m. on Upland Street. Fire officials said a trash truck went over an embankment and snapped a utility pole. The driver was reportedly in the roadway when the ambulance arrived.

    Fire officials said the driver was taken from the scene by ambulance with potentially life-threatening injuries.

    Aerial footage from the Sky Ranger showed multiple power crews on the scene working to repair the pole.

    Police said the driver was transported from the Auburn, Massachusetts, scene by ambulance with serious injuries.

    Upland Street is currently closed at Manor Road. Traffic is being diverted to Old Farm Road. Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible.
