A Zagat survey has found the city with the highest reported tipping average to be Beantown at 20%.
The city with the least generous tippers in the U.S. is San Antonio, Texas, at 17.1%. The national reported average tip is 18.9%.
New York City is known as the priciest city for dining out with a reported spending average of $48.44 for dinner -- that's $12.14 over the national average of $36.30. If you're interested in cheap eats, the two least expensive U.S. dining cities are Detroit ($28.77) and Minneapolis ($29.67).
And, what about trendy foods? Sriracha is the most popular with 31% of surveyors responding that they "love" the spicy condiment.
When it comes to cuisines, Italian food is the most popular with 22% of surveyors calling it their favorite.
