Teen Charged in Shooting in Boston's Downtown Crossing

A 16-year-old has been charged in the shooting of another teen in Boston's Downtown Crossing earlier this month.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday that the teen was apprehended Wednesday while he was at Boston Juvenile Court answering to charges in an unrelated case.

He is accused of shooting a 17-year-old in the chest on Washington Street, between Winter Street and Temple Place, on May 2.

The victim survived and told police he could not identify the person who shot him, according to the DA's office. He was treated at Tufts Medical Center.

The suspect was arraigned on charges of assault with intent to murder and delinquency.

Neither teen's name has been released.
