Third Grader Accused of Threatening to Stab Staff Member

A third grader in Methuen, Massachusetts, is accused of threatening to stab a staff member with a kitchen knife.

Police say the boy showed classmates a knife on the school bus, as they were headed to Tenney Grammar School around 8 a.m. Thursday.

One of the students told the driver, who then alerted the school's administration.

Officials were waiting for the boy when the bus arrived at school.

The elementary school will discipline the boy, and charges will be forwarded to Lawrence Juvenile Court for the threat and having a dangerous weapon on school property.

No other information was immediately available.
