(NECN) – Starting Monday, registration opens for the 2014 Boston Marathon.
The BAA announced last month that it will accept an extra 9,000 runners for the race.
The increased field will make room for the more than 5,000 people who were unable to finish because of the bombings.
That means the 2014 race will be 36,000-strong.
The race will be the second largest in the event's history.
