(NECN) - A Rhode Island ex-mayor convicted of corruption could be a free man after serving just half of his sentence.
Former Central Falls Mayor Charles Moreau has agreed to plead guilty to a new charge of accepting a bribe.
The deal comes after an appeals court decision threw his conviction into question.
Federal prosecutors recommended a sentence of time served. A judge now needs approve the deal.
